Switch-on Ceremony for the Central Luzon Sitios Electrification under the Sitio Electrification Program (SEP) Talavera, Nueva Ecija 24 February 2016 President Benigno S. Aquino III led the switch-on ceremony for the electrification of sitios in Central Luzon under the Sitio Electrification Program (SEP) of the Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Electrification Administration (NEA), held in the province of Nueva Ecija. In his speech, the President shared that a total of 31,862 sitios or around 98.2% of government’s target have already been energized. The Ambuklao Hydroelectric Plant is the Philippines' first hydroelectric plant. It is located in the mountains of Bokod, Benguet and is about 36 kilometers northeast of Baguio City. MANILA - Russia's state nuclear corporation, Rosatom, said Tuesday it would help the Philippines develop a nuclear power infrastructure under a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Energy. The 2 parties also agreed to "explore the possibilities" for the construction of land-based or floating nuclear power plants with small reactors, Rosatom said in a statement. The Bataan Nuclear Power Plant will also be assessed to determine its possible reopening, according to the statement. Bulacan is a province in the Philippines, located in the Central Luzon Region (Region III) in the island of Luzon, 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) north of Manila (the nation's capital), and part of the Metro Luzon Urban Beltway Super Region.
